AYSO's Area 2C Alliance Program -
Offers an opportunity for enthusiastic and motivated players from 10U-16U a more competitive but still recreational opportunity to play more soccer. Alliance is the AYSO Player Pathway level between Recreational and Club Programs. Players are selected based on skill and potential through tryouts, but can expect a lower level of competitive play and time commitment that at the full Club level.

Alliance consists of two seasons with teams formed after tryouts twice a year: Fall and Spring. Fall, players are chosen, teams formed and announced in June. Training sessions typically start mid-July. Alliance game schedule runs August through October and all teams will choose play in a number of tournaments that end typically in October depending on the team’s chosen schedule. Spring players are chosen, teams formed and announced in November. Training sessions typically start in December with the game schedule running from January through March and all teams will then choose to play in a number of tournaments that end typically in May depending on the team’s chosen schedule.

All players (10U and up) are encouraged to apply/try-out. With the switch to Alliance, players do not have to have played in the Fall program to play in the Alliance program. Although you may only participate in the same division that you participated in during the Fall Core program.

The number of teams formed in each division varies from year to year depending upon the number of players trying out and the number of certified Coaches available to coach. Alliance teams travel more than fall teams, as they could play teams from Davis, as well as Winters, Capay, and Antelope (possibly others - this varies from year to year).

A higher level of commitment is expected from both the players AND the parents. Alliance is for enthusiastic and motivated players, for the purposes of player development. A player is expected to regularly attend training sessions and games. Parents are also expected to participate in league organization by providing Referees and in the running of the Concord Cup (mid May) to which Concord AYSO and MDSA are a Hosts.

Interested players must register for tryouts by clicking on My Account then follow process to pick the Alliance program.

The Alliance program is a self-funded with a $25 player fee in addition to fees collected by each team to offset the cost of field rental fees and other incidental expenses. Uniforms, consisting of two jerseys, two pairs of shorts and socks, are purchased by family via a Score link and are expected to cost $65.90. Players are expected to participate in several tournaments with the actual number based on the coach's preference and scheduling requirements. You can expect to participate in anywhere from 4-6 tournaments. The tournament registration costs will vary, but can run anywhere from $45-$60 per player per tournament. You will need to account for other incidental travelling costs such as gas, food, and lodging depending on the location of the tournament. Team fund-raising / sponsorship requests are encouraged.

Note: There are no scholarships offered for the Alliance program as this is an optional offering.

If you are interested in coaching an Alliance Team, complete and submit Alliance Coach Application by November 8 2023.
